The Story of Adam and Eve
Hello to everyone who's reading this,
So I'm somewhat of a deep thinker when it comes to some things, at least I used be 😅. Anyways once I read the story of Adam and Eve I started to think that there could be something much more deeper than what is visible to the regular reader...
Consider this, men and women are innately different. If you view it from a biological and anthropological perspective you can find out many different qualities and characteristics that differs men from women. Women for example have more sensitive skin than men, which could be an evolutionary trait as in the past women used to take care of the family while the men used to hunt/gather for food and supplies. A man with sensitive skin would actually have a very hard time getting accustomed to something like hunting an animal. I'm not trying to be sexist here, I'm just stating the fact that there are differences in male and female minds and bodies that have been proven scientifically. Now why am I rambling about the differences in male and female bodies, you might think?
So that brings me to the story of Adam and Eve, considering that it's mostly the male population that succeeds in STEM fields (Of course there are a lot of exceptions, please bear with me; I'm not a misogynist😪) and that the female population succeeds in artistic endeavors (due to their innate traits of empathy and compassion, again many exceptions... I know).
For now let's say that it would be suitable to call Adam the 'Brain' or 'Mind' and Eve the 'Heart'. Do bear in mind that the brain cannot last without the heart, and just like the population of mankind (and I guess almost all beings, besides some weird hermaphrodite exceptions) cannot exist without both male and female counterparts. Now you may have experienced this yourself too (I for sure have), we sometimes do irrational things when driven by feelings or emotion. Love is something like that I guess... Just like that, the heart has the ability to influence the mind (sometimes even full on control).
Therefore in my opinion I'd say it's safe to come to the conclusion that 'Eve' could be a symbolism of the heart and that 'Adam' could be a symbolism of the mind. Could the serpent be the symbolism of the 7 deadly sins and God be the symbolism of virtue? Because when the apple was given by 'Eve', 'Adam' takes a bite of the apple (interesting fact that malum is Latin for both evil and apple), that action of eating the forbidden fruit expels them from the Garden of Eden.
When the mind is tempted to evil, we lose the capacity to do the great things in life. We are often in states of despair due to falling into temporary gratifications and failing to become what we aspire to be. When the mind is tempted to fall into laziness or any sort of 'bad' states we must not forget that this isn't what we want, we want to achieve greatness. Our lives are short and every second counts. If you are feeling like procrastinating something, try to do it for one second, just one second, open the book you have to read, just keep it open now try to go for 10 seconds, 60 seconds, 1 hours, 2 hours... We think a second isn't much but it's just 86,400 seconds that consitutes for a day. If you can do something for one second you can do it for hours and even days.
Well I did digress a lot but life is short, make the best of it. You are amazing and you are capable of such great potential.
